These are some paintings I made of the University Church in St Stephen's Green in Dublin. It is a nineteenth century church, in the Byzantine style; the walls are panelled with marble of many colours and there is a mass of carved detail. The effect is very dramatic.
I love the use of colour and the perspective in the third panel makes it look almost real. When can you come and paint a huuuuuugee mural in our kitchen for €€€?
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
David, Ger and the gang
Fabulous Louisa -- I echo David's comments, can you come do the ceiling in my kitchen? :)
ReplyDeleteI have a whole house that needs painting and I can pay you in Fig Jam... It is also a sacred place.
ReplyDeleteThe depth of field in the pillar detail of number 3 that relaxes my eye.
I love the colouer and textuer (ees frensh) in number 2
The fourth panel (with the devotional light) shows a curved wall in the background. I find that curved perspective very inviting - drawing me into the picture.
