UBUNTU

Late last year I took part in a group exhibition to raise funds for Breadline Africa, a South Africa-based charity that supports local initiatives by marginalised communities in order to help them to help themselves (their website is www.breadlineafrica.org).  The theme of the exhibition was "Ubuntu", an old African expression with many meanings: respect, helpfulness, sharing, caring, community, trust and unselfishness.

In line with this theme, I wrote and illustrated a children's story about the zoo animals making a trip to Africa, and called it, "Ubuntu, or, We Did It Together".

  2. Louisa, It's a delightful creation. You are talented. I particularly liked the picture of the departure from the shore, especially the monkey's letter writing. BTW: it is difficult to read the text, even when zoomed. When will we see your next production?
